Processing Facility

Site Validation for the Establishment of Processing Facility for Mango intended to Boracay Women Producers Cooperative amounting to 4.0M.

With the use of innovative proccesing technologies in the mango proccesing center, the unmarketable indian mango from growers and farmers will be brought by the cooperative and will be processed into juice, vinegar and wine.

The finished products will be marketed to stalls in Boracay, hotels,schools and kadiwa outlets o the DA6 AMAD.

Promoting Boracay Women Economic Empowerment Project” or (PBWEEP)

We have on-going advocacy activities with Global Affaires Canada and the Philippine Business for Social Progress entitled “Promoting Boracay Women Economic Empowerment Project” or (PBWEEP). The package includes information and education campaigns such as Gender Sensitivity Trainings, Women’s Rights and Responsible Parenthood Forum, Training Demonstrations on Health, Environment and Sanitation and a Radio Show to offer space for women’s issues and concerns.

Communal Gardens

The Communal Gardens which supply sustenance and nutrition to the marginalized community have evolved to become a Communal Kitchen and Dining too. Receiving guests/tourists to serve authentic Boracay food and artisan souvenir hands on workshops. Because of the communal gardens, BWPC is now part of the Malay Food System and a partner of the Slow Food Movement.

DOLE SPES

BWPC invests in its future generation through the DOLE SPES. The children of our members 15 years old and above are given the opportunity to work with pay at our different enterprises. 60% of their salary is shouldered by BWPC and 40% by DOLE. They work 20 to 30 days.

Beach Forest Restoration Now!

A potential starting point for environmental conservation as a response to climate change is the restoration of coastal forests to offer protection against surge-tide damage, shoreline erosion and safeguarding water quality (FAO, 2010). Pinay Boracay, CGAS 609 led by CAPT Julijane A Libres PCGA, Malay LGU Environment Committee head SB Nenette Graf, CENRO Boracay and other community organizations in partnership with Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) and JG Summit Petrochemical Corp will embark on this major environmental restoration activity in Boracay.
